On behalf of the Lifesaving Community within the UK Police Service I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new Police Lifesaving website.

As you will be aware the Primary duty of the office of Constable is to protect life and there is no higher honour than to save the life of another. Police Life Saving continues to play a very important role in raising and testing basic skill levels amongst staff in their core duty to protect life.

To demonstrate our commitment to Lifesaving, each year the National Police Lifesaving Championships are held in June rotating across the twelve Policing Regions of the United Kingdom. The event is supported by the Royal Life Saving Society whose training and participation in judging the competition are invaluable to the Police Service.
